Not So Gelous - Amazing Colors Gel Pens Set Review

Hey guys!

Just as I have acquired a headphone collection, I have been steadily growing my gel pen collection, too. What can I say, it's the best. Well...usually.

Today's product is Amazing Colors Gel Pens, and they look like this:

At first, I was happy with them. These were a nice addition, no problems at all. However, that took a turn after a few uses. Weird, right? I figured my initial use of them could spell it out for me, guess I was wrong.

I use gel pens primarily for my bullet journal (highly recommend), so I am usually working with something thin and prone to, at the very least, ghosting. Given that, I like my pens to be good enough to write on a paper without ruining the rest. these can't handle that, apparently.

In the beginning, they were great because they didn't seem to do any of the usual things that make me turn my back on the product. they didn't bleed, pool, smear, or skip. Today while I was setting up a bingo game with my siblings, I was using the blue color next to the purple and the lighter blue. It was a mess, honestly. It pooled after only a couple seconds sitting in the same place, and because of that it bled through the paper. It didn't dry even after a couple of minutes. The ones I have gotten my hands on took 30 seconds max to dry, so this was a bit unexpected (I got it all over my arm). Next, I noticed the unreasonable amount of bleed through that wasn't from pooling, and it was a bummer. Plus, it smears so badly because it never seems to completely dry, or at least it takes way too long. Lastly, it skips pretty badly. I had to do the tongue lick thing 3 times during the few minutes I was using it. There's plenty of ink and it worked enough to pool and ruin my paper, so I am positive it wasn't dried out or empty.

These were great when I first got them, I really enjoyed using them. But because of my fifth or sixth go around, I won't be using them again. Like I said, I use these types of things on fine paper. Fine, expensive paper. I refuse to use pens that ruin more pages than I could use in a day.

Not all is ruined, though. I happily admit that the colors are very night. The colors are bright, smooth, vivid, and eye-catching. That's a bonus because I have come across more than my fair share of dull, lifeless pens. The title fits well, these are some Amazing Colors. I personally think these would be more suitable for children or someone who just needs colors for certain things without them being the absolute best or something. There's different kinds so if you're looking for something quick and easy then you should check them out. If you need them for detail-specific/high quality things, pass.

Bonus, the white pen is probably the best one. But I don't think you should invest in a whole set of subpar for just one good one.

But before you go and disown/disregard the product, don't forget the pros. I will quickly admit that these suck for my purposes, but they might be magic for you. Also, though I am speaking primarily of one single pen, had this been my very first use of these and I spent the money on them, I would have demanded a refund for low quality. Double check your needs before you buy any product, just to be safe!
